SINGAPORE, 1st March 2024– M1 today announced that it has received top accolades at the 2024 Asian Telecom Awards, a prestigious platform that recognises businesses and people driving progress and transformative shifts within the telecom sector.
This year, M1 was named winner in the following categories:
- Mobile Operator of the Year, Singapore
- CEO of the Year, Singapore
- Technology Innovation of the Year, Singapore
"These awards are hugely meaningful to us and underscore M1's unwavering commitment to driving innovation and unparalleled value to our customers,” said Manjot Singh Mann, CEO of M1. “As we continue to harness the latest technologies such as 5G to push the boundaries of what's possible, we remain steadfast in our mission of creating a more connected society.”
M1 has been a frontrunner in Singapore’s 5G development. It was the first telco to embark on 5G trials in Singapore, rolling out 5G SA connectivity and offering commercial solutions that businesses can easily adopt. In 2023, the company launched a groundbreaking 5G SA-powered solution suite for Southeast Asia that provides scalable 5G industry solutions, including M1 SMARTsafe, M1 SMARTsecure, M1 SMARTasset, and M1 SMARTops, that not only deliver 5G connectivity but also offer end-to-end solutions to customers.
Under Mann’s leadership, M1 has doubled down on innovation and successfully integrated digital strategies within its operations, as it seeks to be ‘the telco of the future’. As part of its multi-year digital transformation, M1 accelerated the roll out of highly personalised services and completed the migration of all its mass consumer customers to its new cloud native digital platform, completely revamping its back-end technology. The massive undertaking has enabled the telco to respond more quickly and create personalised services for its customers.
“The Asian Telecom Awards has been at the forefront of recognising exceptional accomplishments in the telecom industry, so it’s an absolute honour to have won these awards,” Mann added.
