We are actively involved in the community, engaging and building relations with the various segments of Singapore's society, and has longstanding commitment in supporting a range of arts, sports events and charitable causes. In doing so, we strive to achieve sustained positive outcomes in improving lives and enriching communities.
Champion local arts – M1 has been supporting the arts since 1997, as we believe a thriving arts scene is important in enriching the quality of life, as well as strengthening social bonds and our identity, especially in a multicultural country like Singapore. Key sponsored arts events include the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival, M1 Patch! A Theatre Festival of Artful Play and M1 Peer Pleasure Youth Theatre Festival. We also partner leading homegrown contemporary dance schools - T.H.E Dance Company and Frontier Danceland in presenting the M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival, M1 Open Stage + DiverCity, M1 Dancing on the Frontier Appreciation Series and the M1-Frontier Danceland PULSE scholarship programme. In recognition of our sustained support to Singapore’s arts scene over the years, M1 was presented with the Patron of the Arts Award in 2018 for the 19th consecutive year by the National Arts Council.
Support sporting talents and healthy living through sports - M1’s participation in the sports arena is represented by our continued support towards Netball Singapore's initiatives including the promotion of the sport in schools, at the clubs and national levels with the M1 Schools Challenge League, M1 Talent Identification Programme, M1 Age Groups KL Tour and M1 Zone Age Group. Since 2013, we have been hosting Singapore's biggest mixed-corporate annual netball competition - the M1 Corporate Netball Challenge, to promote the sport and healthy lifestyle amongst working adults. In 2018, we extended our support to Singapore’s netball scene as the title sponsor of the M1 Netball Super League, M1 Nations Cup and M1 Asian Netball Championships – Asia’s most prestigious netball event.
Serve the community – Each year, we stage the M1 Charity Golf and M1 Charity Carnival events that are supported by our staff, business partners and associates. These events help raise funds for our adopted charities Beyond Social Services, Brahm Centre, Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association, and the M1 Students Support Fund, a partnership with the Ministry of Education and which provides supplementary financial support to needy students from 18 primary schools.
The M1 SunCare Club is our staff voluntary group and was initiated by a group of passionate employees who are committed to making a difference to the lives of the less privileged. Beyond financial support, the M1 SunCare Club promotes volunteerism amongst employees and has impacted positively to the lives of our beneficiaries from our adopted charities. Besides volunteers from M1, families and friends of employees have also shown their support by volunteering at various events organised for our beneficiaries.
M1 SunCare Club ties up with the following charities:
